This Photo was also taken by Stephen. In this photo Kyle (on the left) and Me (on the right), are hauling ass down this super steep hill in Richmond, VA. This was a really fun day and in a part of the city I don't really skate all that often so there was new opportunities. I love Richmond.

This photo was at a spot in Washington, D.C. The photo was taken by a very good friend of mine Stephen Stalnaker, after I had just slammed on a trick I can't even remember now. This was the same day that I wrote about in a previous blog that I attached a video to. Many memories from this day.

Welllll

The video didn't quite work out too well hahaha. I ended up basically not filming any of the trip. Which I am fine with, because I had a fucking great time. Didn't have to worry about anything revolving around school or work, just friends being obnoxious, laughing, and beverages. The people at Tech though, thats "a whole nuther" blog post let me tell yah. All in frats, all dress the exact same, and all pay for there friends basically. Its just plain ole' lame.

Virginia Tech

Last night at around 11:30 p.m. , I was offered to go on a Virginia Tech trip with Al and Tyler. This is an annual trip for them, but a first for me. Binge drinking and skating are going to just about sum up this trip. Im planing on making a bit of an iPhone edit to document the whole weekend, which I hope to make my twentieth post! My car is fucked. I was at outback with my girlfriend and when we left my car wouldn't start. We got her dad to jump it and it was still acting like the battery was going to die as I was taking her home. I know it needs an alternator. As I was driving home, in the middle of pembroke, my car just shuts off. Luckily there was a cop a couple cars back when it happened so they helped me push it into this sketchy car wash place. I got out, locked the doors, and bummed a light from the dudes next to me. Keep in mind I just sold the truck that I bought that I posted an earlier blog about:/. I did make a 500 dollar profit off the truck though:). But, I am out of a car for the time being. Shits botched.

This is a short clip of me skating at a park with some history. First, this place in a shitty part of newport news was called Anti-Gravity. It was a skater run park/shop that many people respected and enjoyed. When they started going under, Mekos, another skatepark moved locations and bought Anti. Mekos is owned by a non skateboarder priest. You can see why this wouldn't work. A skate shop needs to be skater owned and operated, because who else would know what to buy and build. Cardinal skate shop in VA beach knows how shit works. Skater owned and operated since day one. ( i don't think the video will play but I am leaving it up there anyway)

A set list for musical exploration

I feel that in this generation there are many people that do not explore different music other than the latest pop song on the radio. Its bullshit, EXPLORE PEOPLE THERE IS SO MUCH MORE OUT THERE! In this piece I will name five songs and the bands that play them that are must hears.
1. Fireworks by Animal Collective- This is a fabulous song by my all time favorite band. Great lyrics and very unique sound.
2. The Abandoned Hospital Ship by The Flaming Lips- This song is off the album " clouds taste metallic" which is a great album by the way. The song just builds up in a way thats like no other, you can't help but take it in
3. Digital by Joy Division- This is just an awesome song by a band that had a unique sound especially for its time.
4. Toe Cutter/ Thumb Buster by Thee Oh Sees- Your classic new aged beach rock band which are all good but this song just plain ole rocks.
5. Across The Night Sky by Adeodat Warfield- Different band who's creator is a skateboarder I am fond of, Ryan Sublette.

Nuts

In this photo, Alex (taking the rip) has successfully drank his hight in beer. This was about sixteen beers. Alex then proceeds to take a multitude of bong rips. Fucking crazy one might say. Al, as I call him is a complete individual. He does whatever he want and he has an insane schedule. Forty hours a week he work while attending ODU full time, while somehow managing to do things like this in the night hours. Got to hand it to him, the man is living.

-Theses were screen shots from a short film a friend and I made for his art class awhile back. The concept was that I would walk up and find this board (in the photo) in the woods, continue walking, and find this decrepit bowl. The bowl was an old project of my friends but was never quite finished and is now rotting away in his fathers woods behind his house. Once I was in the bowl, I was acting like I was skating it;  just walking around, using my hand to guide the board around. It was hard to film for a multitude of factors. First being, that the bowl is fucked up so I would fall through sometimes:'). Also, one of the requirements of the project was that it be filmed in one consecutive sixty second shot. All in all It was super fun, and I had a great time being a part of it.
